DECATUR, Ga. — The hottest name in alternative fuel vehicles is making a high-voltage entrance into metro Atlanta.
Tesla Motors, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and globally recognized for its high-performance electric vehicles, is establishing its first full-service dealership in Georgia—right in the heart of Decatur, DeKalb County’s seat.
The 18,000-square-foot automotive showroom and service center is a result of a strategic leasing collaboration between Brian Patton of Brian Patton Commercial in Alpharetta and Josh Barnes of Orkin & Associates. The pair represented the property owner in finalizing a long-term lease agreement with Tesla Motors.
“We see a lot of potential in the Decatur market, and that’s why the landlord has decided to hold onto the property in the form of a leasehold,” said Patton.
Barnes added, “We like to buy and hold strategic investments. That’s why we are bullish on this market and this property.”
Sarah Williams of SRS Real Estate Partners played a key role as Tesla’s representative in the deal.
Tesla’s move comes amid a period of rapid growth for the company, with its stock price more than doubling in the previous 12 months. The Decatur location is expected to be just the beginning for the brand in Georgia, as Tesla continues to expand in step with the surging demand for electric vehicles.
